On Saturday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stays with a working visit in Ivankivsky district, Kyiv region.
Meeting village and settlement mayors, leaders of industrial agricultural enterprises, residents of the district, V.Lytvyn commented on the socio-economic situation in the country.
V.Lytvyn informed about the activities of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and stated that "a public discussion" concerning situation in the financial and economic sector would be held at the Parliament next week. Moreover, the Parliament is to scrutinize the Draft State Budget-2009.
Among priority issues requiring urgent settlement, V.Lytvyn singled out safety issues, heat supply, corruption, and provision of medicine.
Dwelling upon the foreign affairs, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasized the necessity to restore a dialogue with Russia. Thus, he calls for restoration of activity of the Inter-Parliamentary Commission on Cooperation between The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
